Dhaka--(UNB) – The main index at Dhaka Stock Exchange continued to show a downtrend for the second straight day yesterday with the losers outnumbering the gainers.


The DSE all Share Price Index went down by 3.74 points or 0.60 percent to close at 614.97 points from 618.71 points on Sunday.


The DSE-20 index also dropped by 11.58 points or 0.94 percent to finish at 1207.93 points from Sunday’s 1219.51 points.


Of the 150 listed securities traded yesterday, 104 declined, 29 advanced and 17 remained unchanged.


Some 1,912,879 shares and debentures worth Tk 15.25 crore were transacted against over 1,670,000 shares valued at Tk 13.48 crore on the previous trading day.


South East Bank (214,150), Beximco Pharma (190,950), Fu-Wang Food (121,350) and Sinobangla (107,000) were among the volume leaders.


Market capitalisation stood at Tk 58.62 billion from Tk 58.98 billion Sunday.
